The Special Custom combines the full, muscular voice of an Esquire-style bridge pickup with an open, warm and beautifully balanced neck pickup.
 
Its overall character is distinctly vintage: bluesy, punchy and clear, with an articulate middle position. The bridge provides a raw, rootsy attack that remains focused under gain, while the neck keeps chords and single notes open and expressive.
 
The pickups are wax potted and fitted with vintage-style braided cotton leads. Please select a separate cover ground wire if your wiring uses a four- or five-way switch. RWRP and non-RWRP configurations are available.
 
Every set is built to order. Before winding your pickups, I may contact you to confirm model-specific choices such as RWRP wiring or wax potting. This personal setup service is included at no extra cost.
