The Special Custom is one of the most vintage-voiced sets in the Asyllum Pickups P90 range. Its winding is inspired by the turn counts that shaped the character of the earliest P90s.

The neck pickup is warm and full while remaining articulate and responsive. The bridge pickup adds power and an organic attack, with a balanced frequency response that lets the natural harmonics of your guitar come through.

An RWRP configuration is available to reduce hum when both pickups are selected. The set is supplied unpotted by default for a more open response, with vintage-style braided ground leads.

Every set is built to order. Before winding your pickups, I may contact you to confirm model-specific choices such as RWRP wiring or wax potting. This personal setup service is included at no extra cost.
