The Special Custom blends several classic Strat eras from the 1950s and 1960s, making it the most versatile set in the range.
 
It works beautifully with overdrive, fuzz, delay and other effects, moving easily from crystalline traditional Strat cleans to warmer, more powerful blues-rock sounds. The bridge pickup is round, full and substantially hotter, with a hint of P90 authority, yet it preserves a balanced middle-and-bridge position.
 
A carefully selected combination of Alnico grades controls harsh upper frequencies while maintaining clarity, dynamics and an even response across the set. If you want classic Strat sparkle without being limited to one style, the Special Custom is an excellent choice.
 
The pickups are wax potted and fitted with vintage-style braided cotton leads. The set is supplied without RWRP wiring by default; an RWRP middle pickup can be selected for hum cancellation in positions 2 and 4.
 
Every set is built to order. Before winding your pickups, I may contact you to confirm model-specific choices such as RWRP wiring or wax potting. This personal setup service is included at no extra cost.
